Global product offer

Castrol Offshore wanted to articulate their updated globally available product range to the exploration and production industries.

A comms structure and look and feel were created to help define their scope of applications. Imagery in the Offshore industry is difficult to source at the point of operation. To reflect Castrol Offshore's heritage of performance, technology and innovation an ultra realistic and technical illustration style was conceived. Images were modeled using a 3D design package before being finally rendered with a consistent lighting and polished technique that could be achieved across the whole range of applications and comms materials. The detail within the helical gear teeth made Transmissions a particularly challenging and rewarding piece.

A microsite was created with 15 application e-books made available highlighting key benefits, features and top level technical data to aid product selection. Product Safety Data sheets are also provided via the online Product Catalogue. Customers can identify the products relevant to their needs by searching either asset type or location. Alternatively they can search for regional offices, supply points and distributors, by selecting their location on the globe.

The website was updated within a global platform to achieve a consistent message across all marketing comms and help maintain and build on Castrol's premium position in the marketplace. Castrol wanted to make the site more relevant to customers and it has since become a point of reference and business interaction by showcasing product range detail, data sheets and industry updates. When first launched page views increased by 50%.
